Euro campaign update
Devizes Lib Dems have held a street stall in Devizes on May 14 and handed out hundreds of leaflets in Marlborough, Devizes and the surrounding areas.
Leafleting in Marlborough, where people responded warmly to the positive messages about the EU and 'what it does for us' on offer.
Many people are however worried about the decision they face on Thursday, as the uncertainty of the consequences weighs on peoples' minds.
LibDems have always favoured an internationalist approach, and the belief that Europe offers a way to a safer and more prosperous future has clinched it for many of our supporters. However many people feel overwhelmed by the complexity of the issue, and most are probably anxious, particularly after the tragic events of last Thursday, about the issues of immigration and nationality as well as others, that this referendum has opened up.
In these troubled and volatile times in the world, let us hope that people can keep the result of the Referendum in some sort of perspective on Friday, and work on the challenges ahead. Many thanks to all those who have helped spread the IN message in recent months.
